Getting back to me.........Sometimes this is so much harder than it sounds. So much harder to do for self after taking care of everyone else for so long. A lot has happened over the last month that has just taken so much of my attention and tiem away from me, my art, my needs. That I just feel drained. I've lost a friend, had to make drastic changes to my daily life, question those around me. And I want so bad to keep telling myself that this is all going to work out. But geesh!!!! I'm exhausted.

Now we are into the holiday season and I can't get motivated. I always make everything I gift, but this year, gift cards are really sounding good. Really good. Except for 2 people in particular. I can't give my child a gift card, she'd laugh at me, even at the age of 5. And AK.... I just don't know what to do with him. I wanted to make him something, but of course when I asked for somethingin particular, so did he.

So now to the lab. I'm working on a few ideas, it's just a matter of sitting down and getting to them. We are expecting family next week, and the house I must say is a mess. My creative juices have been more effective in the kitchen as of late. Veggie soups, stuffing, and teas. I leave you with the making of my soup, create it in your own way for you and your's. My GS calls it

"Goddie Stew"

Celery,White Onion, Green Onions, a few cloves of Garlic, 3 tbs of butter, about 16 ounces of water, Season to taste. I use Creole seasoning and Season All. Bring to a boil, simmer for just a little while, but don't let the water boil out.

Now to your base add a large can (20 to 25oz) of tomato sauce, a small can (16oz) of Tomatoes. I prefer Del Monte garlic, pepper, and onion tomatoes and 1 packages of veggie crumbles. Which ever brand you prefer.

I also add rice to the stew. Use your prefered method. I hate cooking rice and my GS cooks way too much. Maybe I should start making this with left over rice? There's a thought! Anyhow, I cook my rice in the microwave. I only cook a cup.

Now mix in the rice, season to taste if needed and enjoy!!!!

Hugs,

Candace
