All I want for Christmas..
I did buy new canvases today. Hopefully I will have them complete by Kwanzza. Prayerfully they will sell!!
I also purchased the lates Cloth Paper Scissors toady!!! I'm excited 1 because I finally found it in my neighborhood. 2 i found 2 projects that live up right with my current ideas!! I am so excited. My mom is laughing at me. Because when I got home I read it cover to cover. She was trying to ask how to cook a vegitarian friendly dish and I couldn't respond for being wrapped up in all of the articles. and instructions.
I have one project that I just may give a try in the next few weeks it was one of those naggin paint techniques that I just knew wasn't as hard at it appeared. However previous attempts we okay, but now, I hope this works better.
Well I'm off to the Whitfield Family Soul!!! Gathering. I'm supposed to have my goodies on display for my family to see and I just realized that I left all of my jewelry at my house. Oooohhh well all the more reason for them to visit my blog.
Peace to all!

So at the end of this 8 week pursuit I haope I am filled with the knowledge and inspiration to create pieces as beautiful as this.
I'm also signed up for a beginner paint class. Anybody can paint, yes, but there are some shadow and bleding things that I;m just not getting on my own. So I'll be kicking my new year off in high gear!!!
Off to my current pursuits. I have to finish a coffetable book I'm making for my mom. I have so new mixed media pieces I am creating for my Kwanzza shows. Also I have to have the GN baby book done for his 1sy B-day party on the 29th. This is such a busy and exciting time.

Getting back to me.........Sometimes this is so much harder than it sounds. So much harder to do for self after taking care of everyone else for so long. A lot has happened over the last month that has just taken so much of my attention and tiem away from me, my art, my needs. That I just feel drained. I've lost a friend, had to make drastic changes to my daily life, question those around me. And I want so bad to keep telling myself that this is all going to work out. But geesh!!!! I'm exhausted.
Now we are into the holiday season and I can't get motivated. I always make everything I gift, but this year, gift cards are really sounding good. Really good. Except for 2 people in particular. I can't give my child a gift card, she'd laugh at me, even at the age of 5. And AK.... I just don't know what to do with him. I wanted to make him something, but of course when I asked for somethingin particular, so did he.
So now to the lab. I'm working on a few ideas, it's just a matter of sitting down and getting to them. We are expecting family next week, and the house I must say is a mess. My creative juices have been more effective in the kitchen as of late. Veggie soups, stuffing, and teas. I leave you with the making of my soup, create it in your own way for you and your's. My GS calls it
"Goddie Stew"
Celery,White Onion, Green Onions, a few cloves of Garlic, 3 tbs of butter, about 16 ounces of water, Season to taste. I use Creole seasoning and Season All. Bring to a boil, simmer for just a little while, but don't let the water boil out.
Now to your base add a large can (20 to 25oz) of tomato sauce, a small can (16oz) of Tomatoes. I prefer Del Monte garlic, pepper, and onion tomatoes and 1 packages of veggie crumbles. Which ever brand you prefer.
I also add rice to the stew. Use your prefered method. I hate cooking rice and my GS cooks way too much. Maybe I should start making this with left over rice? There's a thought! Anyhow, I cook my rice in the microwave. I only cook a cup.
Now mix in the rice, season to taste if needed and enjoy!!!!
Hugs,
Candace

Saturday's Devotional--Children Learn What They Live
anointedteacher8@yahoo.com
Good Morning,
"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will
not turn from it." (Proverbs 22:6)
Change is rarely easy. In fact it can be very difficult to change
the patterns learned in our developmental years. Solomon noted the
importance of early training some 3,000 years ago. Dorothy Law Nolte
explained it rather precisely in the following words:
If a child lives with criticism,
he learns to condemn.
If a child lives with hostility,
he learns to fight.
If a child lives with ridicule,
he learns to be shy.
If a child lives with shame,
he learns to feel guilty.
If a child lives with tolerance,
he learns to be patient.
If a child lives with encouragement,
he learns confidence.
If a child lives with praise,
he learns to appreciate.
If a child lives with fairness,
he learns justice.
If a child lives with security,
he learns to have faith.
If a child lives with approval,
he learns to like himself.
If a child lives with acceptance and friendship,
he learns to find love in the world.
Adapted from "Children Learn What They Live" by Dorothy Law Nolte
It hardly needs saying that we need to be very loving in the way we
bring up our children. But what if we, as adults, didn't receive
loving, wholesome training as a child ourselves? Can we change? Yes,
if we truly want to and are willing to accept responsibility for
doing what we need to do to change.
Today’s prayer: "Dear God, knowing that my parents did the best they
knew how, help me never to blame them for any problems I have, and
please give me the desire to keep growing so I become a warm,
loving, accepting adult/parent. And please lead me to the help I
need to overcome the effects of any deficiencies in my childhood
training. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully
in Jesus' name, Amen."

Knock, Knock
Knock, Knock
I knocked at heaven's door this morning. God asked
me...My child, what can I do for you?
And I said, Father, please protect and bless the
person reading this message.
God smiled and answered...Request granted.

Fwd: Pastors business card
Pastor's Business Card
A new pastor was visiting in the homes of his parishioners. At one house
it seemed obvious that someone was at home, but no answer came to his
repeated knocks at the door.
Therefore, he took out a business card and wrote 'Revelation 3:20' on the
back of it and stuck it in the door.
When the offering was processed the following Sunday, he found that his
card had been returned. Added to it was this cryptic message, 'Genesis
3:10.'
Reaching for his Bible to check out the citation, he broke up in gales of
laughter. Revelation 3:20 begins 'Behold, I stand at the door and knock.'
Genesis 3:10 reads, 'I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid for
I was naked.'
Remember when the funniest jokes were the clean ones? They still are!
'A cheerful heart is good medicine' (Prov. 17:22)
Now, pass it on

Wednesday's Words of Encouragement--Effective Intercession
Good Morning,
The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou
shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my
servant shall be healed. Matthew 8:8
Not only can you and I speak the Word of God over our own lives, but
we can be an effective intercessor by speaking and praying the Word
of God over the lives of others.

A really good time

Saturday's Devotional--People Pleasers
Good Morning,
"In the temple courts he [Jesus] found men selling cattle, sheep and
doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. So he made a
whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple area, both sheep
and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and
overturned their tables. To those who sold doves he said, 'Get these
out of here! How dare you turn my Father's house into a market!'" John 2:14-16
Of one thing we can be certain: Jesus was not a "people pleaser."
The reality is that "people pleasers" inevitably end up getting
frustrated and angry because they are not getting the response they
want from trying to please everybody, and ultimately end up pleasing nobody.
It isn't possible to please everybody. When we try to, we do it out
of our own need for approval—an empty substitute for love. As one
person said, "If you have to stand on your head to make others
happy, all you can expect to get is a big headache."
Or as another put it, "If you stand for something you will have some
people for you and some against you. But if you stand for nothing,
you will have nobody against you—and nobody for you."
As already noted, Jesus was not a "people pleaser." He stood for
truth and right regardless of what anybody thought of him. May God
help you and me to do the same.
"Suggested prayer: "Dear God, help me to find inner security both in
your love and that of others so I will not be searching for love in
trying to please others. Deliver me from this bondage. Thank you for
hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully in Jesus' name, Amen."

Thursday's Words of Encouragement--Shake IT Off!
Good Morning,
Now Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and he was laying them on
the fire when a viper crawled out because of the heat and fastened
itself on his hand. Then (Paul simply) shook off the small creature
into the fire and suffered no evil effects. Acts 28:3,5
Whatever may be troubling you from the past, shake it off! God has
a great future planned for you. The dreams of the future have no
room for the snakebites of the past!

Subject: Planning - Words of Wisdom - October 1st, 2007
Good morning. Planning is so important to succeed! Here is a great
thing to remember: If you fail to plan you plan to fail! Donald Trump
also said something that stuck with me.
"Failing is okay, but you should never be shocked when you fail." I
believe that we all know when we didn't prepare for a task, so set
yourself up to win this week! Plan plan plan!
