Colors of Me

Colors of Me Originally uploaded by with his gifts.
You know how some days it's like I just want to create!!!!! Well yesterday was one of those days. If anything else went right it was this picture. I spent an hour typing a blog entry. And three hours trying to get all o0f these pictures to burn to a disk. Needless to say, it didn't happen quite the way I wanted it to. I got my PC worked on about few weeks ago, and it still hasn't been the same. It doesn't like a disc that I put in. I digress........ So back to my painting. Don't you love it.? I do. It's all of my favorite colors including the one I just cannot wear. Can you guess which one it is? I'm not telling. I'll just say it's a mental thing. I have never been fond of the color but dress my child in it faithfull, but she loves it. Well off to another day full of excitement, creativity and life!!!! TTFN!! Candace

Tequila & Salt

I go this from my Mom. She doesn't even drink But I get the point. Love ya!!

 Tequila & Salt

This should probably be taped to your bathroom mirror where one could
read it every day.  You may not realize it, but it's 100% true.

 1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for.
 2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.
 3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.
4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you.
 5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.
6. You mean the world to someone.
7. You are special and unique.
8. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.
9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.
10. When you think the world has turned its back on you take another look.
 11. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks.

So...........If you are a loving friend, send this to everyone,
including the one that sent it to you.  If you get it back, then they
 really do love you.

And always remember....when life hands you Lemons, ask for
tequila and salt and call me over!

Good friends are like stars........   You don't always see them,
But you know they are always there.

"Whenever God Closes One Door He Always Opens Another, Even
Though Sometimes It's Hell in the Hallway"

I would rather have one rose and a kind word from a friend while
I'm here than a whole truck load when I'm gone!

Forward  to all your friends, including me. ! And don't tell
me you're  too busy for this... Don't you know the   phrase "stop and
smell the flowers"? See how many   "bouquets" you end up with!

Fwd: FW: JUST BECAUSE BY T.D. JAKES

JUST BECAUSE BY T.D. JAKES

Just because no one has been fortunate enough to realize what gold mine
you are doesn't mean you shine any less.

Just because no one has been smart enough to figure out that you can't
be topped, doesn't stop you from being the best.

Just because no one ! has come along to share your life, doesn't mean
that day isn't coming Just because no one has made this race
worthwhile, doesn't give you permission to stop running.

Just because no one has realized how much of an awesome woman you are,
doesn't mean they can affect your femininity.

Just because no one has shown up who can love you on your level,
doesn't mean you have to sink to their level.

Just because you deserve the very best there is, doesn't mean that life
is always fair.

Just because God is still preparing your king, doesn't mean that you're
not already a Queen.

Just because your situation doesn't seem to be progressing right now,
doesn't mean you need to change a thing.

Keep shining, keep running, keep hoping, keep praying, and keep being
exactly what you are already....COMPLETE!!!!

Send this on ! to your female friends who need to keep on doing what they
do best.

Self Anonymous

Hi, my name is Candace. And I’m just me. I’m 25 a single mom. And I’ve just never fit in. How I really lost myself was when I was 12, my parents divorced, I was living with my mother, who I had grown up with, just wasn’t accustomed to ( my sister and I did everything with our dad). I figured if I did what she said and what she wanted me to do, she’d love me more. Well in the mix I lost me. If she didn’t approve I lost interest or buried the feeling. I stopped writing, drawing, and singing. Not too much of what I loved could be a career in here eyes, thus I grew to feel inadequate. Now, I have child to raise on my own, that is every bit of a free spirit. And I find that letting her be herself is hard at times because I’m like that’s not “right”. At 4 what’s really wrong with singing to yourself in your own room. So what if she talks herself to sleep. And when I ask with whom is she talk to she tells me “ME!” And now all my mother can say is,” She’s your child.” So why am I struggling to see myself in her? Why is it so hard to just be free? Because I want to be the example and she’s leading me. So I’m giving in. It’s taking time. I know I don’t fit a norm in my neighborhood, my job, or demographic. But I can’t stand by and preach freedom to my child while I allow myself to continue being my own prisoner. My name is Candace, I’m 25. I can’t stay up past 9, I love painting, writing, cooking, being barefoot. I’m loud. Yes, I go to a Baptist Church and yes my dad is a pastor, yes I meditate and practice yoga, and read the Koran. I have 2 tattoos, and am working on the number 3. Yes I locs (dreadlocks), and yes I brush my hair. I listen to Jazz, Contemporary Christian, Gospel, Hip Hop, and Top 40 (I know all the words to Fergalicious). Give me some popcorn and a good movie or book and you may not see me for days. If you can’t love me fine. All that I ask is that you respect me. If you can’t do either just leave me alone please, because this is a Working Zone!!! I’m working on being ME! With love, Cande P.S. I was sparked!!! This was not a rant from the left. My favorite blog, with the glitterettes got me started today.

Re: Tuesday's Words of Encouragement--God Is With You

Going to a little training today, but wanted to leave Aunt Pat's words with you.

Good Morning,

"Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest" (Joshua 1:9).

You must have confidence that God is with you at all times. In the midst of danger, or even when you step out in faith to do something you have never done, don't fear. God is with you.

Tuesday's Words of Encouragement From Aunt Pat

Give-Up Moments (I love Aunt Pat, her words are always right on time.Kisses!!)
Good Morning,
When you're walking the walk of faith with God, you meet resistance. And at times you may feel like quitting. When this happens, don't quit! On the other side of your give-up moment could be the miracle you've been waiting for.
When Peter loaned Jesus his boat to use to preach to the crowd that had gathered, Peter had reached a give-up moment. He had fished all night and not caught a single fish. After Jesus preached, He gave Peter a word. He said, Let down your nets for a draught (Luke 5:4). Peter answered, "But, Master, we've toiled all night long and caught nothing!" That was his give-up moment. But then he said, Nevertheless, at thy word I will let down the net (v. 5). And he caught so many fish that it broke his net! On the other side of his give-up moment was the very miracle Peter needed!
We all face give-up moments, but that's when you're got to trust God to keep His Word. Once you find a promise you need in the Word, and God says He's going to do it, you can trust the Word-even when you don't see any results or understand-because it's backed by God. You don't have to figure God out. You just have to trust that He will keep His Word.
We often limit ourselves by forgetting that, as believers, we are spirit beings. That means we have a right to operate in spiritual principles. We can trust God's spiritual laws because they work. When you understand this, you set yourself up for something supernatural to happen for you. So don't give up! On the other side of your give-up moment could be your miracle!
My Declaration of Faith for Today I refuse to give up, because on the other side of my give-up moment could be my miracle!

Trying times

As you can see I am in test mode this morning I have been sending post to my blog via my cell phone, and they haven't been making it to the blog. I sent 2 notes this morning one via text and the other via outlook and the text message made it!! My other post were sent via outlook. More than the phone has been getting me down lately. I'm really struggling with I guess self identity and worth right now. I grew up not really having my ideas or interest fostered. I did a lot of things to make my mom happy and along the way lost myself. NOw at 25 and not having what my family would consider "worthy" interest. I am struggling to be me any how. I love drawing, and painting, and making jewelry. Which no I don't make a lot of money doing, but it relaxes me. I feel a sense of purpose when I do sell a piece. To be honest it rocks my world. So for all of you out there, feeling a little, lost mis-guided, or searching-You are not alone. So on to Tuesdays post of encouragement.
Just a good morning.

-Candace
